Founded in 1950, our Maison was developed over time by four generations of passionate winegrowers.
Marius was clearly one of the winegrowing enthusiasts of his time.
At the time when he acquired his first vineyards in the village of Verzenay where he was born, he was working for a champagne merchant.
He started farming his vineyards with unrivalled passion and sold the first bottles of his production in the 1950's.
And this is how Champagne M. Vanzella
came into being...
Our champagne still bears the name M. Vanzella today, as a tribute to Marius, our founder.
Michel quite naturally took over from his father.
His wife Francine and himself have since modernised the farm and expanded the vineyards with parcels situated in Mailly-Champagne, Francine's village.
Today, Sophie and Alain manage the operation.
Marius's grand-daughter and her husband are the guarantors of the continuity in the family savoir-faire and the quality of the champagnes of our Maison.
Together, they are further developing the farm in a manner which respects both nature and people.
Alexandre is now getting ready to take over.
By his father's side, he is learning the profession's demanding nature, valuable precision and the specific savoir-faire of his family.
